Salsomaggiore can offer tourist entertainment all the year. This calendar is surely not exhaustive, but it lists some of the main appointments that every year are held in Salsomaggiore:

• Great concert of New Year's eve
• The marathon of Giuseppe Verdi's lands: marathon with departure from Salso and arrival to Busseto. It's held in February
• Pizza world championship: challenge among the best pizza makers of the world
• Italian bridge championship

• International tournament of tennis under 18: important tournament of the international tennis circuit. It's held in the second half of April
• Health bicycle ride: traditional bicycle ride from Salsomaggiore to Soragna. In May
• Miss Italy in the world: beauty contest reserved to girls with Italian origins. From 2004 it is held in June and it is separated from the contest of Miss Italy
• Miss Italy: the Italian most famous beauty contest, every September in Salsomaggiore
• Mozart festival: Salsomaggiore, in collaboration with the "Toscanini" foundation, organizes a cycle of symphonic concerts that departs in autumn and ends in late spring
• National contest of painting and graphic "Cristoforo Marzaroli": it's held every year in November-December in the rooms of Salso Congress Hall
