Salsomaggiore and Tabiano are mainly known for the precious presence of thermal waters. It could seem strange, but the characteristics and therapeutic indications of Salsomaggiore waters are different from those of Tabiano, although the distance between the two places is only few kilometers.

Salso waters are defined "salsobromojodiche", infact they contain an elevated concentration of mineral salts, in particular bromine and iodine. Salso waters hold the world record for the density of mineral salts in spring waters.
The therapeutic indications of Salso waters concern the treatment of respiratory and gynaecological pathologies and the field of aesthetic medicine. Among the treatments offered in Salsomaggiore there are inhalations, thermal baths and thermal muds. Tabiano waters are sulphured, containing therefore high concentrations of sulphure, suitable in the treatment of respiratory and digestive pathologies and for ear diseases. The inhalations of Tabiano are renowned for voice care, so much that among Tabiano guests there are famous lyric singers. Another application field for waters and muds is skin care: Tabiano offers a modern center of dermal cosmetics, with therapeutic and anti-aging treatments for all skin types.
